Collection: GAMBIA INDEPENDENCE DAY LIMITED EDITION

MORE THAN JUST A CUSHION

To celebrate Gambia's independence from British Colonisation in 1965, I have designed three cushions combining the Gambian flag and my iconic velvet patchwork with colourful ruffle and fringe finishes. I am so delighted to share this special, limited edition product. 10% of the proceeds made will be used to buy and distribute food around Garibaldi, an impoverished area of Naples with a high population of migrants.

"I have always been passionate about helping people, this cushion is an opportunity to do that. With the money we make from the cushions I can provide tickets for people to buy meals and distribute food around areas where people are hungry." 

The first lock down was scary for migrants in the City of Naples. Migrants were, and still are, mostly working without contracts. This meant that when they lost their jobs they had no security. No access to emergency funds. No income. No food.

I set out every morning to collect and distribute food to people who were on the brink of starvation. The area of Garibaldi suffered a hunger crisis. I want to use this opportunity to draw attention to this ongoing issue and ensure that In Casa by Paboy takes every opportunity it can to provide support to my fellow migrants.

Periods of difficulty for migrants in the city of Naples are not temporary. Lock down was exceptionally difficult for migrants in this city and things have not much improved.
